TJ Ward
Executive Director, Project Opioid at JAX Chamber
TJ Ward was born and raised in Jacksonville and is passionate about seeing our amazing city continue to become one of the premier places in the country to live, work, and play.
As the Executive Director of Project Opioid North Florida, an initiative of JAX Chamber, TJ is focused on convening key leaders across the region to implement strategies that help reduce overdose deaths. He has spent over 25 years of his professional life in the nonprofit sector, where he helped start and successfully grow two large organizations from the ground up.
TJ holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Liberal Arts from Maranatha Baptist University and a Master of Science degree in Management and Administration from Nova Southeastern University. TJ is on the Health and Well-Being Development Council for Baptist Health, is a member of the Board of Directors for Inspire to Rise, and serves on the Board of Directors for the State of Florida’s Recovery Friendly Workplace Coalition.
He is a 2023 graduate of the Northeast Florida Regional Leadership Academy, and as a part of the River Region Human Services 50th year celebration, he was honored with a Legacy Award for his role as a Community Builder. TJ also co-produced a project entitled, “Ending Overdose” that won an Emmy Award and a Florida Association of Broadcast Journalists Award.
TJ’s favorite thing to do is to spend time with his beautiful daughters, Dacey (25) and Whitney (23). He also enjoys almost anything related to fitness and is enthusiastically embracing his newest hobby, choreographed dancing.
