Interview Guide
Preparing For Your Interview
All star participants will be required to film an interview during one rehearsal with their professional dancer. These videos will be shown before each participant’s showcase performance. This is the perfect time to let the audience learn more about you and see how you’ve grown as a dancer. Show River City who YOU are and show off your personality in each answer.
The interview will be very quick, simple, and should take no longer than 30 minutes. It will be conducted in a casual question and answer format. Questions will be provided to both the star and professional dancer prior to their scheduled film day to help prepare answers in advance. Attire can be business casual or your casual rehearsal outfit.
Following the interview, the camera crew will stay 30 extra minutes to film b-roll during your rehearsal. Your dance does not need to be 100% perfect during your video - the less you know the better! The b-roll will show the audience your journey through River City Dancing With The Stars and how you’ve started with little to no experience before seeing the results of your hard work on stage.
The Questions
For the dancer:
What has been your favorite part/moment about working with _______?
How has this experience been for you overall?
For the star:
What has been your favorite part about learning a new dance?
Do you have any previous dance experience?
Why must you be named River City's favorite dancer?
What is something special about the Jacksonville Children's Chorus's mission that stands out to you?
For both: Tell us about your dance.
